Artist description ethan From day one, Ethan was a star. He could captivate an audience with his charm and smile, and soon, he would learn, his voice. He still vividly remembers his first public performance outside of the family living room. “I was nine years old. My grandmother was the church musician and she put me on program. I walked out of the choir stand and stood behind the microphone next to the piano. My grandmother whispered to me, ‘…open your mouth, and sing out,’ and sing I did.” After delivering an inspiring rendition of his soon to be signature song, “Walk and Talk with Jesus,” his course was set. Thirteen years later, and after completing college, Ethan is ready to make his reality exceed his dreams. It is time to make his mark on the music world. He combined his unique writing style and amazing voice with the innovative production of up and coming Philly producer Je’Mar Dixon, a.k.a. Aliengroover. The result is a creative blend of R&B, pop, and blues, with an overall urban feel. Tracks range from the upbeat ode to love “With You,” to the love gone wrong “I Don’t Know Anymore.” When approaching writing Ethan says, “I always write the lyrics first, because you can have a great beat, but to me the song must say something. The lyrics should be able to stand on their own like a poem… What I say in my songs may not always be from personal experience, but the feeling is real and everyone can relate.” After writing and arranging the songs for his demo, Ethan is now seeking a deal with a major label to, as any great artist would put it, take him to the “next level.” His inspiration to reach the next level comes from his determination to reach his goals, and from those singers that inspire him, such as Christina Aguilera and Brian McKnight. “I look at their live performances and I am always amazed. They are some of the best voices. Every time I see them, I am encouraged to work harder so I can reach, and succeed at the same level.” He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas. He plays the saxophone, piccolo, and a little of the piano. He is a graduate of Baylor University with a BBA in Management (2001), and Webster University with his MBA (2002).
