DJ Eclipse of Prizm & Eclipse has become one of the top break beat talents the US, he is best known for his tight production on over thirty dance club hit 12-inch singles, explosive DJ sets and live performances with Prizm of electro-funk across the US. He has 12” releases on Phattraxx, Funk lab, Funk Wax, Pure Music, Kaleidoscope, and on own his own two labels, Millennium Recordings and Bad Ass Shit, as well as remixes for Ravelab, Huda Hudia, and DJ Rob-E. With his production partner Prizm, their song "Genesis" was featured on a Sony Playstation2 video game, and episode of MTV”S Real World, as well as ABC Sports Speed Skating television broadcasts. DJ Eclipse and Prizm & Eclipse have many well known songs featured on compilations by some of the nations top DJ's, such as, DJ Keoki, Christopher lawrence, Rick West, Rob-E, Huda Hudia, and DJ Sandy. He has been featured in URB Magazines "Hey DJ", countless 12-inch and CD reviews in URB, Mixer, BPM, D'vox and international internet media. Artist History
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Brian A Johnston, AKA DJ Eclipse first became interested in dance music at the early age of seven while attending roller skating rinks. His career began in 1990 at the age DJ'ing at the local roller rink on weekend nights spinning late 70's and 80's electro, in 92' he began to DJ at late-night techno-house parties. Then in 1994 DJ Eclipse began to produce his own electronic music while he was the resident at Club Moscow, West Palm's first late-night rave event, this is where he teamed up with current production partner, Prizm. Their first 12"release was is 98', entitled "Cyber - Funk ep", Eclipse soon followed up with ten more releases. One year
Later in 1999, Prizm & Eclipse's debut album entitled, Intelli-Funk, was released on Max -Music (distributed by Universal ) Their next CD release entitled "2020 AD" is due to be released soon and with DJ Eclipse’s solo album in the works he has proven he is here to stay and is making his mark on the dance music scene.
