Artist description
Cedar3 knows that good songs result from the union of
groovin' music and memorable words. Always re-examining their
lyrics, Cedar3 songs concentrate on real life
struggles and triumphs. Take for example, the song
"Avondale" in which they sing "I held your name
against the sky/ You crossed my heart, I hoped to die/
You played this heart to sing your tune/ But I never
made music like I did with you." Or the plea in lines
from "Finest Wine": "Set me free/ This next round is
between my maker and me."
Cedar3 will be playing numerous shows over the next
couple months, and recording their EP "When the
Looting Starts (Where ya gonna be?)". The album
release is expected to continue the process of finding
hope in the struggle. |

Artist History
Cedar3 started when Kyle Anderson met Joel
Martins and his guitar in Minneapolis in the
autumn of 2000. The two began playing together and
writing thoughtful, introspective tunes. Joel and
Kyle wanted to deliver a deeply personal message;
often reminding themselves of hope while dabbling in
bitterness. Trying to find a balance between blues
grooves and the insatiable urge to jam, they continued
to develop original sounds in each song.
In late May, they finished recording their 6 song demo
at Sheridan Ave. Music Studios and began scheduling regular
dates and selling CDRs burned on their computer.
In September 2002, they recruited former Seth bassist and funk master
Matt Glatzel.
They are currently writing new material
and starting to record a full length CD. |
