Artist description
"Inviting to the ears; excitement for the eyes" sums up the new four
piece band, Simple Something. Exploding with energy out of
Northwest Indiana, Simple Something is a band on the rise.
Behind the band's hypnotic guitar tones and high-energy riffs is Jason
Zeilstra. Jason is accompanied by his long time band mate, and the
maker of the rhythm section's unique sound, Adrian De Armond. The
pulse of the band comes from Jonas Doran's emotions and feelings;
which are released on the drums. The edgy and melodic voice of Rick
Martinez was the final piece to this puzzle. These four musicians
make up the original sound; which is Simple Something

Press Reviews
From the October 2002 edition of "Midwest Beat" Magazine
(written by David Buco)
"MY GRADE: A-
Simple Something is our final Rumbler for this month with a four song CD sampler.
There is a very evident Incubus influence here - vocally, musically, and lyrically. That is NOT a bad thing at all. Partly because Incubus is a great band and partly because Simple Something is far, far, far from being any kind of "copy band". There is much originality in music - strong emotion and just a hint from time to time of Alice in Chains in their sound as well.
Production is top notch, songwriting/arrangements are nearly perfect, and the musicianship and vocals are unforgettable!
Simple Something is one hell of a band, keep your eye on them. Another breakout band from da region - maybe!"
From the August 2002 edition of "Local Live" Magazine:
(written by Dan Scheffki)
"...Next were Simple Something who tore through their set of Incubus-esque material with reckless abandon. These guys had some cool songs, best of which was a new cut they threw out to the crowd that night called "Best Intentions". Their mix of melody, vocal harmonies, and riffing along with a smokin' drummer (who reminded me some of Police drummer Stewart Copeland at times) were a pleasant surprise."
