Artist History
Mansic was started by Nizze and Micke in Norrtälje as [sic], but after a couple of tours and the self released album "Waking Up" Nizze and Marcas decided to reform the concept [sic] to something more and so they called in Clabbe at the bass and changed the name to Mansic.
Nizze on vocals and guitar has also a history in the 80's punkscene in Sweden with the band Sighstens Grannar and later with the baby of Mansic, Nepente. Marcas, who was a member of Nepente aswell also play violin with the sing/songwriter Carl Brandt and his Unholy Chapel (Osaligas Kapell). Clabbe played in Jamboree during the 80's where he was the lead singer.
After some different line-ups, Micke from the old [sic], moved from Norrtälje to Stockholm and started to play the bass in Mansic. Clabbe took over one of the guitars. Jocke from old Nepente later joined the gang, even though he lives in a small house in the middle of nowhere.
You could call Mansic part II of the story of [sic]. It is a result of a gang of punksouls strive to throw punkrock at the people.
As [sic] the band released one demo, Bränt Barn on swedish and one mini CD, Waking Up. The band were also contributing with their punkrock on compilations as Burned Favourites, Holy Shit #3, Being [sic] In Poland (Special edition from Far Q Records), A Small Slice of Pinkin Pie and soon on Brewed In Sweden 2. [sic] made one tour in Poland and a mini tour in Holland before the change of the name.
Before [sic] Nizze and Marcas played in Nepente who released one cassette, Kärlek and one CD-R, Törst, before they broke up. The band never went on tour but made one hit-and-run to Bergen in Norway. The band just didn´t have enough spirit to go on.
As mentioned, Nizze have his roots in the swedish punkscene during the 80's with a band called Sighstens Grannar. A band that played mostly in sweden, but even in Germany and Denmark. The members were drinking to much and the live acts was not always so focuesed, if you know what I mean. Worth to mention is that the drummer. Mart , always had his own projects and after Sighstens Grannar he started De Lyckliga Kompisarna (DLK), a band that really made it on the swedish punkscene. For a while I think they were the most popular national punkband. DLK is no more, but check out UBBA, Marts new project.
Other people involved in Mansic is Robban who helped us out recording "It Has Just Begun". Robban formerly played in Dark Funderal. Jie was the Mansic drummer during the Cool & Crazy Tour, his history is in bands like Dirty Old Men and Zen to mention a few. Pontus played the guitar at Punkrock Paperdoll and the first recording of World Inc. Also at the Thalheim festival and surrounding gig. Emil was the drummer at Punkrock Paperdoll and a sick companion at the Thalheim festival with the surrounding gigs. Lalle played thedrums at the first recording of Punkrock Paperdoll.

MANSIC-PUNKROCK PAPERDOLL
(CD-MANSIC01)
Review by Skrutt Fanzine 30/8-02
In english:
Nizze from SIC is in a new group called Mansic. They have released a ten song selfreleased CD and I see it as a real reacord and not a demo because it´s so well done with a cover and everything. Musically then? Yeah, it´s really nice styled streetpunk with many playful melodies. Old groups like Business, Anti-Pasti have done everything to give them this sound. And of course Misfits have done their thing because Mansic do Last Caress by Misfits. Nizzes halfrawvoice is very good to this music. It´s really fresh with the violin in No Clue.(SEVEN) 30/8-02
In swedish:
Fräckt med fiolen i No Clue.(SJU) 30/8-02

Live review by Molotov-Plus
In english:
At 7.00 p.m. came a lot of people so the concert could start. the first band was "Mansic" from Sweden. The band looks a little bit crazy but the music was very good. It sounds between the "Bones" and the "Bombshell Rocks". I can recommend the band to everyone. ...
In german:

[sic] - Waking Up (D.I.Y)
Swedihg [sic] from stockholm came out with this record a year ago or so on their own label. The most powerful thing with their music is the brutal vocals that gives the songs a harder edge. Bands that pop up as similiarties is Bonecrusher & Lousy. Overall this is a good record with no weak song, it´s energic rock and roll punk with a harder edge all through the cd. It gives you a bit of a summer feeling. There is no doubt that they are good musicians, and there is a future for them if they could get out some newer stuff and on a label that deals with streetpunk. If you encounter this cd in a distro or in any shop i think you should buy it.
Music: 4/5
It´s good rock and roll punk with a good vocalist. No weak track on the set.
Lyrics: 3/5
Hard to hear since there is no booklet coming with the record.
Overall: 3/5
A decent punk record. Worth to check out.

Review from Streetmusic F.C Nr 3:
[sic] Waking Up
It's hard to translate reviews, but it says something like this:
At first I didn't like the uniform of [sic] in their first album. The biggest issue was that they lost something when Troberg (Nizze's lastname was earlier Troberg), who is one of swedish punks best textwriter, started to sing in english. But I am glad that the demos dirty garagepunk has changed to a little faster punk. When I really start to listen the album really gets to me. The songs has a very high quality, and it doesn't take long before All The Rain, Turn Left and No Clue really gets into my head. The bast track is As I Earn, the best Niclas wrote since the earlier days with Nepente.
A very good debut! (PK)

SIC-WAKING UP(MINI-CD SICCD 01)
Wow, this was a surprise, I must say. Because I hadn´t not been witing me so much of this group because the name got me thinking of an emoband or something. But of course I had wrong because Sic plays music in true streetpunkspirit. The only thing I miss is more songs because this records ends too fast. As a mix of Motörhead and BLitz the hroup is driving right through us. Of course a very interesting band with a singer which sounds raw and the melodies is very good and they´re mixed with rawness(EIGHT) ) 21/1-01

Their comment when promoting "Turn Left" from Waking Up
[sic]
From the school of old skool style come [sic]. They play the kinda street punk that is fresh, not that stuff that is just old re-played, re-mixed crap. The tunes that make you wanna listen a few times, get the lyric sheet out and start shouting along!! Great stuff from Sweden, this track is from the self released album "Waking Up".

Never heard "Sic" before so I was surprised by their tight punk sound. They also managed to get the violin to sound like standard equipment for any punk ensamble. Not bad.

I like what I hear.

Demo: [sic] "s/t"
Written by: Måns
Continuing the old Swedish tradition of trallpunk (i guess the most not-too-misguiding translation would be sing-a-long punk), [sic] takes us to the local youth center on a friday night where the talents of the neighbourhood sing about the downfall of society. Now perhaps [sic] have advanced a few steps to a diffrent local, like a café or something, but the spirit is the same. The strife for change.
The leading character in the band seems to be Nizze Troberg, who sings and plays the guitar. The other three "worn-down punksouls" in the band are: Micke, John and Peter. They haven't been togehter for too long, but already have they played with such a name as Famous 27 (Dia Salma) (well, if you are into the Swedish punk-scene you know who they are, and if you're not, well, let's just call them one of the greatest names in the genre of trallpunk), and their music is easily compared to them, just a little fine tuning is needed.

[sic]demo-CD
***
