Artist History
Mainline's glitched electronic sound has parallels both in the dark electronica of Warp records artists and in the hard breaks sound of labels like Fuel. Their squelchy beats won them praise from the likes of the Evening Session in Wales team who have twice featured Mainline tracks on their website and led to a sucession of live gigs, including playing the opening night of the Radio One Live in Cardiff Fringe Festival.
The band have also done numerous shows in venues such as Clwb Ifor Bach, Barfly and the Toucan with a diverse range of bands from Ex- Death in Vegas man Steve Hellier, to Mercury Rev side project Hopewell as well as local acts like Baby Elephant, Which Means What (R.I.P), Nameless, The Error Plains, Rocket Goldstar, Transposer, Headtest and many others. Described by Gair Rhydd (cardiff's student magazine) as "tight and relentless, atmospheric and possibly the heaviest live act of its kind at the moment", Mainline will continue to refine their live shows and spread their uncomprimising brand of millenial breaks amongst the faithful.
