Artist History Alta formed in 1999 when vocalist Scott Brill-Lehn began to collaborate with guitarist Chris Salisbury, a friend from junior high school. They recruited musicians to complete the band under the name Zodiac, of which guitarist Mike Georgia is the only remaining member. After many lineups that just didn't seem to fit and a new outlook on their music, the band changed it's name and bassist Brad Cacciatore and drummer Mike Ruiz joined the band to create our version of intricate, powerful fusion rock. Following a year of writing new songs and re-arranging some of the old ones, Alta went to Farren Studios in September of 2002 and recorded their first 7-song, self-titled EP. Alta has played shows all around the Sacramento valley with bands such as 7th Standard, Bucho!, The Secretions, Die Trying, Winter Reign and End Ever. The band prides itself in a good live show that people can enjoy. Vocalist Scott Brill-Lehn says, "If people see us rockin' out, having a good time on-stage, then they will get into the music too."
