Artist description Jared Voss is an artist for the new millennium. With a sound that is new yet accessible, Jared combines poetic, thoughtful lyrics (reminiscent of Ani DiFranco and Tom Waits) with aggressive acoustic guitars and visceral, impulsive rhythms—an eclectic blend of rock, hip-hop, funk, blues, jazz, and house. Jared’s music is cutting-edge, yet familiar, and appeals to a broad-spectrum of listeners.

Artist History Originally from Salem, Massachusetts, Jared spent the mid-nineties playing the club circuit in Boston (with Vagabond and Trouble Walking), as well as building a career as an actor. In 1997 he relocated to New York City, where he has continually appeared on stage as an actor and a musician, building a fan-base in both areas. He frequently performs solo shows in Manhattan, and plays guitar with the band Squid Licious. Some of his acting work has included playing MacBeth in New York City, Long Jack in the world premier of Israel Horovitz’s Captains and Courage, and various roles in independent films. Earlier in 1999 Jared completed his first solo album, 6 Months from Year 1 (in association with Loud Sue Entertainment and The JavaJedCo), which has received attention from college radio and various internet web-broadcasts. Embracing the new-age of digital-media, Jared’s web-page on IUMA (the home of cutting-edge new music) has widened his exposure, adding to his ever-growing fan-base.
