Artist History Haze grew up in Southwest Philadelphia, just as crack and guns infested the neighborhoods. He grew up watching, and sometimes participating, in different nonproductive acts. He grew up cold, oppressed by others in his youth and throughout most of his life. He spent most of his time alone, listening to hip hop records as soon as they hit the streets. It's what kept him sane. A few (3) suicide attempts later, he decided to place all of that depression and anger into music, and he made his first beat in 1992. His beat influences include both Dr. Dre and the Rza, while his lyrical influences were such legends as Rakim and Erick Sermon, and some new artists like Eminem and Canibus.
