    Artist description
Metal Militia, a Ft. Lauderdale, FL based Heavy Metal Band is not what you might consider your average band. Formed in 1999, when the average age of the band was 13 to 16 years old and beginning their musical careers at Mars Music Learning Center with instructors Damien Lee Thorr and Doug Dawtyler. It was clear early on that these four young men had unique musical talent. Their lightning speed guitar riffs, furious drum beats and intense stage show bring their audience to their feet and have catapulted the band to the forefront of the music scene.

    Press Reviews
METAL EDGE MAGAZINE - 12/2002 There just might be hope for the youth of America! Ranging in age from 16 to 19, the four members of Metal Militia have the vintage sounds of Slayer and early Metallica pumping through their veins. REAL early Metallica, like RIDE THE LIGHTENING. If "Slave Of Darkness" from their 8-track demo doesn't bring you back to "War Ensemble," it's time to turn in your Slaytanic stripes. Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, FL, these teens have already progressed further than most metal bands that have been playing twice as long--they've been together since '99, and already have an appearance at the famed Milwaukee Metal Fest under their belts, performing there earlier this summer, only days before making a trip to Atlantis. Have I mentioned the shredding guitar solo in "Darkest Days"? How about the blitzkrieg of drums that rips into the aptly titled "Perpetual State Of Aggression"? Who knew the old school had such a bright future?
