Artist description
A sonic wave of sound and emotion drilling into the soul of every being to come across its wrath. A powerful ride that hits right at home and cripples the senses. A heartfelt mix of feelings and energy that can evoke anyone’s inner pleasure seeker. Or simply a unit of pleasure. All of these could be worthy definitions for Hedon. Since the beginning the four members of Hedon have struggled and succeeded, but never have they given in. With the accomplishments mounting, the band wonders what the next step may be.
Hedon is a mix of powerful drum rhythms and searing guitar riffs, pulled together by serene, melodic vocals and emotionally passionate ranting. Hedon thrives on the ability to morph their music. Whether its dramatic dynamic differences or extreme tempo changes, Hedon attempts to make every song unique from the next in order to avoid complacency in their art.

Artist History
The history of Hedon began in the fall of 2000 in Sterling, CO. Lead singer and guitarist, Tyler Welch, began simple jam sessions of cover songs with his friend and drummer, Scott Marin. Soon the two decided to bring others into their experiments as a garage band. Justin Tennant soon joined the band on guitar adding the extra lead parts that band was looking to achieve. Also at that time the band enlisted bassist, Drew Smith, to complete their line up. After several name changes, these four musicians united their creative forces to bring to the world their own unique and powerful sound.
Hedon’s resume includes many venues around the Denver Metro area and the Northeastern Plains of Colorado. These venues include The Starlight, The Iliff Park Saloon, The House of Rock, The Sportsfield Roxx, The Crowbar, Stella Bluz, and the Bottom’s Up Tavern where Hedon has played with such Colorado acts as Aggressive Persuasion, Brutal Infliction, Tip the Milkman, Feature 981, Shotgunn, Insignificant, and Comastile to name a few. Hedon hopes to break out of Colorado soon and explore more territory.
Hedon has recorded one full length independent CD entitled "Juxtaposition." The term came from a reviewer of an earlier demo that called Hedon’s music, "Incongruently Juxtaposed." Although the critic used the term in a negative sense, the band has turned it into a positive influence for their CD. Independent A&R company, Taxi, remarked that Hedon’s songs have "a bit of a Tool feel" and "have a good sense of melody and song arrangement." Local news paper, The Journal Advocate, who consequently voted Hedon the best Local Rock Band of 2002 wrote, "With rock bands doing little more than mimicking one another these day, Hedon brings an original, heartfelt addition to the clutter and the noise."
