Artist description
The Drakes were recently filmed by VH1 for a program on up and coming bands. VH1 interviewed the band in various locations and captured the band performing live in NYC. VH1 also filmed The Drakes at a city-wide James Gandolfini event in upstate New York in conjunction with the BanJo Radio Group which has added the band to regular rotation. VH1 Radio has added the Drakes to its weekly Daisy Chain new music program and The Drakes made several on air appearances at commercial radio stations in the South and Northeast, including Q108 of Clarksville, Nashville, Tennessee, WLIR and WEHM of Long Island, New York and WFNX, which is simulcast from Boston throughout New England. The Drakes also scored the music for a BBC program on fashion shows in LA, which is airing as The Good, The Bad & The Ugly on the Learning Channel. In addition, The Drakes were the only indie band to be featured on the Apple Computer QuickTime Hot Picks Page with the first interactive music video, DRAKESTV. For months, the site attracted over a million visitors a day. Check out The Drakes on the new International Pop Overthrow compilation CD on venerable power pop label Not Lame Records.
