Artist description
A 4 piece modern rock outfit from Houston, TX, Silverleaf is the highly anticipated project from former successful regional bands, 24 Count and Sevenfold. Founded in October 2002 by Paul Gross (lead vocals), Matt Radliff (bass), and Rob Swonke (guitar), they then added Bruce Rios (drums) to complete the lineup. Collectively they have played over 1000 shows at clubs and festivals across Texas and beyond.
Although Silverleaf has been together just 6 months, they have already established themselves in the local scene, playing to hundreds of loyal followers, and selling out venues whenever they play. Recently, they signed on with Budweiser/EMI to be the Budweiser True Music Live band for Houston. Their first single ‘Reach Me’ off their debut E.P as well as their clever remake of the Beastie Boys’ classic ‘Paul Revere’ have gotten significant airplay on several radio stations including 94.5 The Buzz. They have been able to capitalize on their local success, landing an opening spot at this year’s 104 KRBE Earthday Festival where they will share the stage with national recording artists, Jewel, Bowling For Soup, Michelle Branch, and Simple Plan to name a few.
The Silverleaf sound is hard to categorize. “I think the most important thing is to just try and write great songs and not focus on creating a certain type of sound”, says Paul Gross. This is precisely what the Silverleaf sound is all about. Thoughtful song crafting combined with melodic ingenuity and contagious hooks are what you will find in every Silverleaf song.
Currently Silverleaf is working on their first album at Sugarhill Studios due out this summer. They are looking forward to 2003 and the opportunity to bring their music to fans across the country.
Comments about Silverleaf include:
“ This band is the most professional and promising act we have seen in years, every time we book them we know we can count on a large crowd and an awesome show.” –Peron Einkauf of Sidecar Pub – Houston, TX
