Artist History The legend of the Nain Rouge dates back to the early 1700's when the Detroit, Michigan area was settled by Antoine De La Mothe De Cadillac. The story goes, before Cadillac departed for the new world he was warned by a prophet "To be careful of the Nain Rouge". Witnesses to the creature describe him as no more than two and a half feet tall, covered in a dark red skin or fur, with blazing eyes and rotten yellow teeth. In 1701 Cadillac had attacked the Nain Rouge with a stick, soon losing his fame and fortune. Every time the red dwarf had been seen a great catastrophe followed. On July 30th, 1763, a day before the Battle of Bloody Run, British General James Dalyell saw the Nain Rouge dancing along the banks of the Detroit River. The next day Dalyell and fifty eight of his men were ambushed by Chief Pontiac, turning the river red with the soldiers blood for days. In 1805 the red dwarf was seen walking the streets of Detroit the day before the great fire. In 1967, days before the riots, he was seen walking the hot summer streets. In 1976 two Detroit Edison workers seen a small "child" climb a twenty foot tall utility pole. Fearing the "child" might fall, they called out to it. To their suprise the red dwarf leaped from the pole and scurried away. The next day, Detroit was hit with the worst ice storm in history. Even though reports of the Nain Rouge are few and poorly documented, there's still a chance that the red dwarf is seen very often but never officially reported. So, remember to keep an eye out the next time you're in Detroit, you might catch a glimpse of the Nain Rouge.

Group Members Nain Rouge currently is comprised of two members, Scott Torok and Dave Pedenelli. Dave and Scott have been friends for over 15 years. After getting back together three years ago they have been writing and recording original music since. This first CD was recorded in Scott’s basement using a BOSS-BR8 digital recorder. Having a music bank of over 50 original songs, Nain Rouge is currently working on their second release. This first release, The Legend, consists of nine songs that will take you on a journey of different influences that form the foundation of the band. Dave and Scott were both raised in the Downriver area by families that were very entwined in music. Their influences include the Beatles, Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd Alice in Chains and Tool, just to name a few. Dave Pedenelli is responsible for playing drums, piano, percussion and vocals. Scott Torok is responsible for Bass, Guitars, Lead Vocals and some percussion. Both are involved in all the writing, recording and producing of their songs. The purpose for this CD is to capture what Dave and Scott love to do while having people enjoy it.
