Artist description
The Silver Arrows' sound ranges from Ventures surf to My Bloody Valentine-like walls of guitar noise. One common element, though, is a pop sensibility and a trashy, "kitchen sink" approach to recording. We listen to everything, but major influences (besides MBV & The Ventures) include The Pixies, TFUL 282, Sonic Youth, and of course the Beatles. |

Artist History
JR and Adam have been playing together since 1995, with many different lineups that made up three different bands: Spit Candy, Socially Retarded, and Minus World. They played with numerous bands from Denton including Mazinga Phaser, the Dooms U.K., Baboon, Jet Screamer, The Pointy Shoe Factory, and others. After their last endeavor (Minus World) broke up, they started a series of home recordings in the fall of 2002.
Mostly JR's work, these were dumped to CD and played for friends around town. They then met Aaron (from Burnt Sienna), and shortly the three of them were practicing regularly.
An opportunity to play a show came up, and there was concern about being able to cover the many parts that were on the recordings. JR decided to pre-record his guitar tracks on top of a click track that Adam could play along with, but before that was finished, JR met Dan. Dan learned all the songs for the show in one night, and they played the next night to an overwhelming response from the crowd.
Shortly thereafter, the recordings were touched-up, re-mixed, and ready to be called a demo. This website was set-up, more shows were booked, and you have The Silver Arrows as they are today.
