Artist History R. Daniel Brown was born on December 26, 1981 in New Albany, Indiana. Daniel began taking piano lessons at age ten, but after only six months of lessons and a disappointing recital the Brown family moved. As a result Daniel's lessons discontinued. It would be three and a half years before he would seek lessons again. Daniel's new teacher was open-minded to what Daniel wanted to learn because of his age. Daniel showed little interest in reading music, but loved to improvise and compose. After only two years of lessons Daniel performed his first solo concert at the age of fifteen which included his first original sonata, numerous preludes, and a short piece for strings and piano. The concert was a standing room only event. Though Daniel's teacher would be his mentor for years to come, formal lessons would end shortly after. One year after his first concert Daniel performed his second sonata in front of an even larger crowd. After two successful concerts Daniel began working on a more creative piece based on the book of Revelation in the Bible. It would be almost three years before Daniel would finish this piece. During that time Daniel graduated from high school, moved to Indianapolis, and began playing jazz at a fine dining restaurant. Daniel, now 21, is currently selling his seven movement, forty five minute, solo piano piece, Revelation I: Prophesied on CD. He is also working on recording the second Revelation and a more contemporary album.
