Artist History
Arnold & Ronald Patton, twins, were born and raised in Michigan.
By their teen-aged years, each had planned careers as far from music as
could be imagined. Arnold (guitar, percussion & vocals) wanted to be an English teacher, while Ronald (keyboards, bass & vocals),
chosed to be a commercial artisi. However, whild both were attending Oakland University in Michigan,
they decided to explore the possiblities of making songwriting a profession.
After graduating from college, both continued writing, recording and promioting their demos to record
labels and music publishers in the Detroit area, achieving some success at having a few
of their songs recorded by several artists on local labels.
In the late 1970's, the Patton moved to Los Angeles. There, they
learned about songwriting as well as arranging and producing from
such writers-producers as Edward and Brian Holland. It was here also
that they began to get favorable responses from publishers and producers,
moreso than they had while in Detroit. They have placed songs with such
music publishers as Camerica Music and have had others recorded by artists
like Rick Smith, and Jimmy Osmond of the multi-talented Osmond Family.
Currently, the Patton Brothers are actively writing and recording new songs for their upcoming
CD simply entitled, "The Patton Brothers" to be released on Twin Noir Records.
