Artist description
Holiday and the Adventure Pop Collective stretch the boundaries of popular music with their unique rock noir. Blending elements of pop rock, jazz, classical music and theater, they create a refreshingly new, bright, melodic, song-driven sound. Vocal harmony is their centerpiece, a trusting bond of communication that has metamorphosed over their ten-year history. Infusing intricate string and horn coloring with traditional pop rock instrumentation, The Collectives three songwriting members (Tommy Becker, Louis Caverly, and Derric Oliver) draw from a myriad of influences. Listeners will identify musical references from the Romantic period, Broadway, 1960s folk rock, and a host of modern day singer-songwriters in between. |

Artist History
In the spring of 1992, three musicians (Tommy Becker, Louis Caverly, and Derric Oliver) attending the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA formed the group, Phacehead, drawing people toward a new, positive sound. In 1996, the band recorded their first studio-produced demo. The session captured the interest of several San Francisco club promoters and received airplay on Berkeley college radio. In the fall of 1997, the band decided that time off was necessary for them to individually refine their sound.
In the summer of 2002, the three reunited and began rehearsing and recording new material, and added rhythm guitarist Mehrdad Alaei for live shows. Drummer Clayton Payne, bassist Peter Hamilton, and electric guitarist Chris Jernigan also joined, rounding out the bands polished live ensemble. Based in San Diego, California, The Collective continues refining the sound and building their audience.
