Artist History FROM RUINS was formed in 2002 from the remaining members of two prominent Syracuse rock bands: Jamus Breed and Neural Groove. In addition to vocalist Matt, FROM RUINS includes bassist Steve Carbone, guitarists Mike Carbone and Dennis Johnston and drummer Mike Rafferty (Formerly of Now or Never Records artists BRAND NEW SIN.) These musicians’ accomplishments in their previous bands define the credibility of this new group. Both bands were nominated for multiple Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYs). Neural Groove claimed SAMMYs for Best Modern Rock Group 1999, and Best Hard Rock Instrumentalist 2002 for bassist Steve Carbone. Jamus Breed captivated the live and television audiences with a blazing onstage performance at the 1999 awards show. In 2001, Neural Groove were finalists in the Jim Beam National Rock Band Search. With motivation, talent and determination, these individuals collaborated to create the new sound of East Coast rock… that sound is FROM RUINS.  After weeks of hard work with Alex Perialas at Pyramid Sound Studios, From Ruins completed a demo that is already creating a buzz in Central New York and across the country. Only a week after it's debut, Immortal climbed to #2 on the Hard Rock charts at Garageband.Com, and was selected as the Garageband Hard Rock Track of the Day in June 2003.
