    Artist History
It all started in the winter of 2001. Featherlight played its first show on February 16th at Springdale Open Bible Church. Though the original lineup, was still a bit unprofessional and musically shaky, the first crowd was very responsive. They asked for more when our set was over, but we only knew seven or eight songs, so we couldn't fulfill their request. This wasn't the very beginning, so let me back up a while. Bobby Wo was in a band for a few years called Code Hero, not the most stable quartet ever known to man, being that they broke up every couple weeks. Every time they broke up, I would try to start a band with Bobby, but it never worked out because he would always go back to the Hero. Once he left for good, Bobby recorded a solo EP under the name Featherlight, because of a dream he had had. "The I Live In West Tarentum EP" was very well received. Every one who heard it loved it, so Bobby decided to make Featherlight a full band. Bobby had wanted to start a side project with Mike Mator for some time, and he remembered that I always wanted to start a band with him, so Mator and I joined. A few months later, "Crass" Chris Donachy joined the Light before our second show. Chris and I were trying to start a band for months, but due to Western Pennsylvania's drummer drought, we never got anywhere. Our first "big" show was August 10th, 2001. We played outside, in a parking lot, on the back of a trailer. Considering that the show was free and that The Switch opened up for us, we were expecting a large crowd. When 200 people showed up, we were blown away, literally (Bobby)! Mike Mator and the band separated on good terms, due to his busy schedule with art school and work. AJ from The Switch pulled double duty for a few months, playing drums for Featherlight and The Switch (a few times playing twice a night). In the following months we began playing with amazing bands. It started with Huntingtons, then 7-10 Split, Calibretto 13, Side Walk Slam, Dead Poetic, Ace Troubleshooter, Vicious Knid, Better Off Dead, Nothing Suits, Officer Negative/ Death Campaign, The Last Hope, The Discarded, The Culprits, a few shows with our partners Linus, and lots of shows with our brothers The Switch. We've gone on two mini tours with The Switch: Gettysburg (twice) and Columbus, OH (also with Five Ways From Sunday). In the midst of these shows AJ went back to drumming for The Switch only, and Featherlight picked up former Code Hero drummer, Frank Stone, in May of 2002. Featherlight released the "Hope EP" in August of 2002, on Operation Records. Featherlight recorded their first full length album (yet to be named) in August- October of 2002. Frank Stone quit in December of 2002. The rest is yet to be written. Rock & Roll will never die! -Jesse*Light
