Artist description Sassafras Folk String Band Sassafras combines lively instrumentation with intricate harmonies into a delightful performance of folk music. Specializing in “Old Timey” music, Sassafras blends it’s signature vocal harmonies with traditional folk instruments: fiddle, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, folk fife, tin whistle and dulcimer. They also play music from the British Isles and traditional bluegrass, as well as original compositions. In 2002 Sassafras released it’s first cd, “Sassafras Christmas, Look Away to Bethlehem”.
