Artist History
Growing up on a farm in the small town of Cohoctah, Michigan the radio never left 100.7 WITL, a country radio station that played all Raymond Harris's inspiring artists such as Johnny cash, George Strait, Waylon jennings and George Jones.
Although Elvis Presley was his biggest inspiration, Raymond set his goal that one day he would come across those same airwaves with my songs and style.
Getting there wasn't easy, as a long haul truck driver writing songs on the road and playing at every honky tonk he could find across the country. These live performances launched for him the opportunity to play at the Grand ole Opry in February 1997. The Opry appearance then opened up an opportunity from 6 different offers on independent labels. Raymond signed with A.M.I. / Tamara Records releasing "Boogie Baby Rock" and "Honky Tonkin Fit"
Boogie Baby Rock went on winning a song competition against a major artist, and the air time received on a major radio station (next to Tim McGraw) was one of Raymond's proudest moments. The air play received helped in being extended the offer to be the opening act, in Michigan, both for Sammy Kershaw, and then one week later Lorrie Morgan in June 2001.
The album "Dance Thirty" has had very positive responses from all across the country where Raymond has appeared and played. These live performances, handing out albums, and interacting with fans was instrumental to building the Raymond harris Fan Club to over 25,000 strong. "Dance thirty" is all upbeat dance music and the clubs love it. For that reason, Raymond is currently working on a new album, "Buckles and Blue Jeans" which will be out in the summer of 2003.
Raymond Harris would like to thank each and every one of his fans for all the support. |
