Artist History
About The Kyds:
Hailing from Phoenix, AZ and Formed in 2000 – This six piece ensemble has been blooming from the famous Desert State. Fresh-faced attitude brings an innovative sound of noise and melody like The Kyds VS Columbus. With songs of passion & chaotic intensity, music like this is neither calculated nor deliberate. The Kyds energetic, individualistic and uncompromising bombardment of sound with insane ramblings of the political nature have been classified as "fucking intense"!
The Kyds VS Columbus bristles at being categorized, and simply sees their music as a description of who they are…Personalized soliloquies, of the music nature. Emerging from a scene where the kids are young and the music is loud, The Kyds create their music to instigate and motivate their audiences. Undaunted by the toils of the music industry; the Kyds espouse an open-minded atmosphere. Like many other bands that have struggled over time this group is not only succeeding through the brilliance of its creation but also because it shows a band evolving, growing and changing against the formulated theory to mainstream. Connor says - “Intensity remains the variable that shall never be compromised as well as musical integrity…The intensity of their faces and feelings are just reflections of the tireless tirades of desensitization sent spiraling like a comet headed full on into their generations cerebrums.”

Press Reviews
Aversion Magazine – by Andrew - USA
“just completely fucking over the top screams that are definitely reminiscent of the "screamo" style, but the songwriting is much more metal based, sounding not unlike Shai Hulud mixed in with a little bit more dissonance and chaos and then some of that modern melodic Swedish sort of stuff, rhythmic chunks, and some calmer/almost experimental areas.”
Soul in Eyes – by Shannon Niebuhr - Ezine - USA
Kyds vs Columbus is a name to be watching out for. I wouldn't be surprised if they got signed onto Trustkill Records or even Ferret Records. This is an awesome EP. ! I will go out of my way to see them live. Tell your friends about this band and make sure you spread their name like wildfire.
Inside Knowledge Magazine – by Martijn - Netherlands
“I would say that they are in between Converge and Acme, I still might miss out on describing their real power. The band seems to be working hard on exploring the uncharted territories both musical and lyrical (with a socio – political foundation). To my opinion this band will make themselves heard in the years to come. Anyone with ears would be nuts not to give them a chance.”
ANTIPOP – by Red - Ezine - USA
“Phoenix, AZ can't possibly get any more hardcore than this. No way. The Kyds vs. Columbus will kick the living shit out of any known hardcore band in the area. Who am I to say really.. this band is perfect for that much needed release of desert aggression, if there is such a thing. Maybe it's the heat, nah.. I think it's just pure unadulterated talent that I'm hearing from this band.”
Bleeding Heroes – by Max - Ezine – France
“kyds vs columbus distills us scholar mixes of screamo, metal and of rather explosive hardcore.”
Decoy Magazine – by Adam - USA
“They have all the building blocks for an intense and vibrant future! Hardcore bliss that will shred you ears.
We'll Make The Difference!!! – by Ivar - Ezine - Netherlands
"I honestly think that this band has a lot of potential. If they'd had the production of your average Trustkill band this would an amazing release. Check this out if you're into furious and choatic metalcore."
Into-obscurity – by Jayne - Ezine - USA
"I very much enjoy the diversity of this disc... every song doesn't sound the same. The Kyds vs Columbus have a lot of potential" “a Bloodjinn fans wet dream - I must admit it is excellent.”
Geek America – by CS - Ezine – USA
“You can imagine these folks would terrorize an audience. The vocals are the strong point sounding like mid 90's emotional hardcore where you mix fantastic screaming with woe is me heartbroken slurring.”
Shzine – by Stu - Ezine - Canada
“This is a great hardcore act coming out of Arizona. With intense, heavy, and screamy songs that last more than two minutes, yet the Kyds vs Columbus have their own mix in these 4 songs that hold up the integrity of melodic influence to a brutal lashing.”
Creative Eclipse – by Magnus - Ezine - Germany
“This moves sooner in the chaotic metalcore area. I would compare the kyds to be found heavily, suited perhaps to Acme or Converge very well. These guys have a lot of potential and I’m excited to hear from the in the future.”
Munnezza – by Fabrizio - E zine - Italy
“kvsc release a wonderful and intelligent metalcore fury that makes you think of them as one the next bands to impose themselves on the new hardcore ambit: great technical ability with an innate skill to bring emotions thru an unstoppable sonic stream full of changes of rhythm and atmospheres.”
