Artist description
swirl is a 5-peice band playing original
alternative rock music. The unique blend of music
swirl writes and performs has been captivating
Bay Area club crowds since July of 2001. The band’s
creative style of hook-heavy melodies, intricate
harmonies and tight instrumental musicianship is
represented in their high-energy performances.
As songwriters, swirl writes for established
musical artists, film and TV. |

Artist History
The band officially formed in 2001. Although
Hilary Pryde, John Lucas and John Held have worked
together on other music projects since the early
'90s, they had not put their writing talents into
a collaboration of original material until the
middle of 2000. When they joined forces the song
writing began to develop and the band swirl was
created.
In early 2002 the group made a big transition.
This was in part due to the departure of our
original drummer, but it was also to represent the
intense harmonies and complex counter melodies
that were laid down on the first CD, Girl On Top. Bringing on Frank Jensen and Kristi Guest did more than that, it created a tight knit musical unit that rocks and writes better than ever. Frank joined and brought his superior drumming and vocals. Kristi Guest for her exceptional vocal accompaniment and incredible keyboard abilities. This really elevated the live show and further expanded the creative direction of the band.
