Artist History
Rate of Change was formed by two members, Chris and Ryan, in early November of 2002. We first came familiar with Drum n’ Bass when Chris went down to Florida a couple of summers ago and discovered it from a friend named Luke. He brought it back up north to our hometown, Baltimore Maryland. We became inspired by artists such as Ed Rush and Optical, Stakka and Skynet, and Konflict. After about three years of listening to several artists we wondered how they made this music. We first started out making some experimental music under the name “Dextr0” which can be found at www.mp3.com/dextr0 as of now. We created two albums, Words without expression and The Foundation, within two months of late 2002. Then, we sent out our albums to local radio stations but received no responses. Fortunately we found other people who were into making music and provided us with more tricks and techniques to creating some unique sounds. After creating a few songs we decided to resend our songs to friends to get their feedback. We were shocked with their responses. With such great responses we decided to have a clean start with a new name and new sound, Rate of Change. |
