Artist History
Courtney Cooper is an up and coming singer/dancer. From hometown of Kennebunkport Maine, now living in Boston, she is currently a student at Berklee College of Music where she studies music production and engineering as well as performance. Her commanding stage presence, teamed with her distinct style caught the eye of Normand Kurtz (management to Christina Aguilera). Presently, Courtney commutes from Boston to NYC, where she continues to work on her demo with Kurtz’ s assistance.
Her original material and collaborations are a mix of mainstream pop with a laid back R&B groove, from the sultry, playful sound of "Say It Aint So " and "Thats How it Goes," to the up tempo dance beat of "Not That Kind of Girl”
At 20 years old, Courtney has already accomplished many outstanding achievements. In 2001, Courtney held the title Miss Maine United States Teen Some of her other credits include dancing in the 2000 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, Starlight's LA Agent award, and numerous awards with her Hip Hop Dance team, Dance Attack (including AAU/FISSA world champs, Company Dance National competition, Starlight regionals). Courtney has also been featured as a guest performer during Disney's Magic Music Days as well as danced in their Fourth of July Parade. She has also been involved in professional theatre productions such as Guys and Dolls at the Arundel Barn Playhouse where she was an intern. Courtney is currently involved in Berklee's Reverence Gospel Ensemble, Women's small Gospel Ensemble (Women of Virtue), and has been a featured background dancer at both Berklees fall and spring Singer Showcase.
