Artist description 3 Minute Theory is a five piece "power ensemble" made up of former members of local bands Osiris, Strict-nyne, and Deriliction. After everything was said and done with their previous projects, tension built to an unbelievable amount forcing these five individuals to search out something brand new and cutting edge. Months had passed and former Osiris drummer Steve Jensen began brainstorming to come up with the "perfect band". Keeping in mind a few close and extremely talented individuals Steve had began holding top secret jam sessions that were really auditions for new members. Two months of try-outs and two months of headaches brought together these five divine musicians calling themselves 3 Minute Theory. In November of 2002, while attending a ripping keg party Steve was approached by local rapper "Big Smo" of "Smo Money Records and was asked if his band would like to audition for a spot on their label. Steve without hesitation accepted and Smo came to the very next rehearsal. To make a long story short, Big Smo was blown away by the bands ability to perform, and quickly pushed for the band to sign onto his label. Long hours of inspection and research were to follow before any member was to sign any sort of a contract. Friends, family, and even legal advisors thought it would not be in the bands best interest to sign with the label. All this fast paced excitement gave the band a taste of what is necessary to make it in this tough business. The very next day after rejecting Smo's proposal Dave Daniels, the bands frontman, contacted Chris Melanson of Suburban Hardcode Entertainment, to help manage and promote the band and to get them out in the scene. Melanson immediately began booking shows and the band found themselves extremely impressed with his hard work and dedication. In the future the 3 Minute Theory would like to see themselves as the next big thing to come out of the Boston area. With their hard work and dedication to their music, the band see's this as a feasible goal.
