Artist History It was a drainy day outside as Herman sat down to talk to the pie maker. Let’s go somewhere is what the pie maker implied he wanted to do, but Herman was not so keen. He walking in the drain daunted him. It will be fun, the pie maker continued to imply, so they left and went to the mall. At the mall, umbrellas were on sale. It was a Saturday and from what I understand lots of people go shopping on Saturdays. The people could see Herman but not the pie maker. Herman didn’t like their looks. The pie maker implied he’d like a cookie like the little girl who was enjoying hers by the escalator. Herman and the pie maker walked all over that mall! They were still wet from the drain, and Herman was growing cranky, but the pie maker implied he’d grow even crankier than Herman if he didn’t find his cookie. The mall was circuitous in the fashion they walked, and soon they came back upon the little girl who was enjoying hers by the escalator. They were still wet from the drain earlier, though the mall was enclosed. The pie maker implied that he wanted to ask the little girl where she got the cookie. A dirty old man was watching Herman approach the little girl who was enjoying hers by the escalator. He didn’t care, but liked to leer at the little girl like she was glue on his eyes. A mommy who was not the girl’s was watching Herman approach the little girl and liked the way his pants which were still wet from the drain stuck to his bum when he bent to talk to her. The girl who was enjoying hers was watching Herman her. She didn’t like his breath but found it curious that he was arguing with someone who was no thicker than air. Herman asked the girl where he could find a cookie that was like her cookie that she was enjoying and if she had brought it from home, if he buy it for his friend the pie maker who had implied that he wanted one like it, but who further implied that he would be contented with hers. Herman had no money in his pants but carried his wallet in his frock pocket. The little girl who was enjoying hers remembered her manners and did not speak to Herman when he addressed her, for she had cookie in her mouth! The pie maker implied that the girl was insolent and should be punished for such an affront. Young children should always respond when spoken to by adults their senior! Herman lost his cool, for he always did as the pie maker implied. He jacked that girl right in her face, and she fell back onto the escalator and rode down crying with her cookie still in her grubby little hand. And some silly policewoman thought this a crime!
