Artist History REDD (Nakia Hamilton) PRODUCER/PERFORMER/WRITER REDD was born into this world as Nakia Hamilton and raised in Wilmington, NC. He was given the name REDD because of the natural color of his hair. His mother introduced him to hip hop at age 7. By time REDD was in high school he was writing and producing his own music. Refusing to let anything hold him back, REDD moved to Atlanta to pursue his music career. By this time he had already opened up for major acts like OUTKAST, FOXY BROWN, Wu-Tang, 3LW, Lost Boyz, NAS and many more. REDD’s hard work got him a interview and live performance on the late Atlanta local talk show “The Wolf”. Forced to comeback to North Carolina because of his father’s death, REDD started his own independent label PORT CITY RECORDS(P C R). P C R released REDD’s first solo album “Move On” . After the first couple of months the album had sold well over 500 copies and gotten 1,500 clicks online. The singles “Move On” and “Fathers Day” received air play on radio stations in the North Carolina area. P C R is releasing REDD’s sophomore album “Immortal ”. This album has something for everyone from “take your panties off” for the freaks, “Hydro” for the weed heads, “lonely road” for the cautious, “stunning” for the ballers to, “one last time” for everybody in love.
