Artist History
Anthony Blount, the mastermind behind Foul Flagrant Entertainment, hails from Greenville, NC…a spot most recently known as the home of Petey Pablo, though Blount was dropping hits long before Pablo was “raising up”.
Blount started out in the music business as a dancer, just as numerous other industry greats, i.e., P. Diddy, Tupac, etc. Upon a successful transition into rap, a CD was delivered to the streets in the early nineties selling tremendously well, and doing an excellent job in helping to support the follow up tour, “From Cakalaka to New York”.
Blount then made a move to Raleigh, North Carolina, bringing heat as a rapper, as well as one of the top producers around. Working with different acts around the region, and networking with talent scouts and promoters, Blount discovered and put out several acts, including P. Batters, recently signed to Gladiator Records.
The next step was a strategic move to Atlanta, GA, the new Motown of the south, and to some…Black Hollywood. Blount quickly made a name for himself, both performing, recruiting and producing several acts, and starting Be Live Productions. Next, a new independent CD was released, appropriately titled “Black Hollywood”, featuring acts such as P. Batters out of NC, and Doc Stitches out of Chi Town, creating a huge buzz around ATL. To support the album, the “Black Hollywood Tour” followed performing around the south at different venues and open mics.
Now, Blount is back with his latest and greatest project…a Street Team on his new label Foul Flagrant Entertainment, which has gone international, featuring artists from across the nation and worldwide- Prophecy (PA), S-One (VA), Fatal (Jamaica), Dennis (Guyana), Scorpinox and Dozier (NY), Nomey (CA), and RJ (GA), which all come together to create the infamous Street Team on the latest album. This powerful album shows the Foul Flagrant strength, as well as Blount’s work ethics, understanding and love for the game of hip hop. But beware…this is only a warm-up for what is yet to come. Stay tuned for the new album in February 2003…the sickest so far.
