Artist History
Gritty Energetic Alternative-Rock is the foundation of the Los Angeles based band, Brush The Green. With all four members being raised on tight and energizing melodic-rock, it seemed inevitable that their sound would be nothing short of just that. Within a month after completing a four song demo, Brush The Green received label interest from Sony/Columbia and TVT Records. Faced with the nice dilemma of having major label interest but no management team, the band quickly sought out and secured management and legal representation. With the management team in place, Brush The Green recorded a five song EP in the spring of 2002. The success of this EP led to the placement of their signature track "Mind" on the ScreamTracks Volume I sampler CD from Screamline USA (clothing line of Creed singer Scott Stapp). Appearing on the same CD as The Vines and Mad At Gravity, pushed the band into the national spotlight with 100,000 CDs passed out on Creed's "Weathered" tour. Parlaying the success of ScreamTracks, Brush The Green landed two tracks "Mind" and "Hate Me" on the 2002 fall release of the Transworld Snowboarding video game for PlayStation and Xbox. Continued success saw their song "Mind" placed alongside Coldplay, The Vines and N.E.R.D. on the CD sampler ASR Soundtrax (Action Sport and Retail business directory) from RavenUSA. Brush The Green is currently performing throughout southern California (Los Angeles to San Diego). |

Press Reviews
The following reviews come courtesy of garageband.com. In reviewing the song "Mind" starchaser of California says, "My oh my...A HIT!!! Hook: The chorus "My oh my" very catchy!!! You got it going on! This is a hit! Melody: The notes chosen in this song stick in my head like a fly on the wall! Grrrreat choice of note progression Mood:Upbeat, energetic, I see myself driving fast down the road, heck i could easily see a great video for this song." Further, thePLASTIC fron Indiana says, "Great stuff. This just screams Stone Temple Pilots, which is cool. I really like the guitars." Finally, Rantraven from Colorado says "Mind" is a "tight grunge pop standard. very bushy/nirvana sounding. Knew what it was going to lean towards immediately. The vocal harmony is nice in the bridge/chorus. All the instruments are tight and properly balanced in the mix. Drums perfectly heavy at times." The garageband.com reviewers also had similar praise for the song "Hate Me." Vibrosound from Texas writes, "Great intro. Man this rocks! Love the melody, great hook too. It grabs you right from the start, and never lets up. Very cool." Also, meangreen from Australia says "Hate Me" is a "very clean and tight performance. Punchy, and catchy track, good song structure. Sort of like punk meets Creed." And finally endless120 from New York writes, "ENERGY!!! I like the intro with the vocals and the guitars. A good way to capture the listeners attention. Nice vocal qualities. I enjoy the energy, intensity, and overall mood this song created. The melody, and hook were shweeet!" |
