Artist History
Me And Three Others were born on a cold day in September 2000, we came together through some quite disfuctional means. At first it was AK and Martin who decided to make a band, with AK on Guitar and Martin on Bass, all we needed was a singer and Drummer. So that summer was spent doing just that. At at a friends party we hear that this guy (LJ), played Drums, we asked him and he said yes although we weren't too convinsed because he was drunk, but nevertheless, he was now the Drummer. All thats left now is a singer.
One day after school going to meet LJ, this guy (G) comes running up to me pleading to be our singer, after days of this I got quite sick of him and just told him yes to shut him up! So out first band practice was in September 2000 in Martins garage, and from then once a week, every Sunday.
We played what we thought was Punk, but never seemed to sound qiute right. We played a few gigs with local bands Asylum and Ignition, although they weren't the best of gigs, our intentions were still good. After about 6 months or so Martin decided to leave through musical differences, fair enough. But were left without a Bassist, hhhmmmm....G buys a cheap bass, problems solved.
We're also left without a place to practice, but then realise that G has a perfectly good basement going to waste..... we clear it out and try to sound proof it, another problem solved. So from then on band practice is in G's basement. Our musical tastes and abilities progress from what we were previously playing, and we start to play speedy punk/ska/hardcore, wicked! Gigs start getting back on track, and gigs with the likes of Fire Apple Red are organised, nuff said!
After a while we realise that we need to have a CD out so that people could hear us when ever they wanted to - as every band does eh?! So we decide to go into the studio in late October 2002 - and record 8 tracks - called "The Shibby EP"! We get all art work designed and all that stuff and have an all day event to release the EP - 2nd February 2003 - many great bands played and it was a day to remember - plus we sold like 50 CD's! After the success of that day, we decided we wanna start gigging all the time, as many gigs as possible - and we're trying our best to organise as many gigs as possible, but it ain't always as easy as it seems! But hopefully you'll be hearing from us much much more as zines/e - zines here and there are getting in touch with us all the time - keep your ears open!
All in all - everything is going perfect for us! |
