    Artist description
In an era of prefabricated pop fluff and testosterone driven nu-metal, Brad Wolfe brings music back to its essence. He is a singer-songwriter who captures the attention of crowds with clever lyrics, melodies that strike the soul, a positive attitude, and a passionate sound that combines the best elements of music's past and present. Brad Wolfe grew up between the Santa Cruz Mountains and San Francisco Bay, in Los Altos, CA, located in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Brad began his career as a songwriter at an early age, writing his first song as a sophomore in high school as a response to a tragic car accident involving one of his best friends. Since then, Brad has followed his musical passion and developed a catalog of original material reflecting his great depth, spanning the emotional gamut from sweet, to sad, to humorous. Brad studied voice from the acclaimed Raz Kennedy (Bobby McFerrin, Counting Crows, Rancid). Brad has been joined in the studio and mentored by world-renowned musicians such as Polo Jones (Bass, Whitney Houston, Woodstock 2) and Gigi Conaway (Drums, Mariah Carey). His live performances have drawn attention from music industry insiders, having been approached by representatives of Smashmouth and Stroke 9. Musically, Brad draws his influences from a wide range of artists including, Tracy Chapman, Pearl Jam, Run DMC the Beatles and Cat Stevens to create a completely unique sound. But that's not just hype! One of Brad's early songs, "What If", climbed the rankings at Garageband.com and eventually garnered the distinction among reviewers as the most original out of the 10,000-plus songs on the site.
    Artist History
At just 23 years of age, Brad recently graduated with honors from Stanford University where he was very active in community service and politics, having been elected president of his class. Brad is currently continuing his education at Stanford by perusing a master's degree in Sociology. Yet, despite a rigorous academic life, Brad still finds time to stay focused on his musical passion. This past summer, Brad joined the songwriting program at the premier institution for the study of contemporary music, Berkelee College. While there Brad perfected his song writing capabilities and collaborated with many musicians from around the world. One member of the faculty commented that Brad's songs are ready for the radio "right now". The end of 2002 brought Brad to Oakland's world class Studio 880 (Green Day, Third Eye Blind) to record his new 5-song demo. Tracks drawn from Brad's artillery of songs include "Tall Grass", "If I Could", and "By Your Side". "Tall Grass" is an emotionally charged song about turning your back on the frenzy of society and rediscovering the importance of life. "If I Could" is a catchy crowd favorite, and like a modern-day pretty woman, it is the story of gazing at the unattainable, should you act on your feelings of attraction and risk losing or should you let it all remain the perfect fantasy? "By Your Side" is a sweet song written at the hospital bedside of Brad's best girlfriend, Sara, who passed away from cancer. Sara loved Brad's music, and always felt a little better when Brad would sing for her. The experience of playing music so often in the hospital was perhaps the most moving experience of Brad's life, demonstrating for him the true power of music and inspiring him to dedicate his life to sharing his music with others.
