Artist History AXAI is really new. We got together in the end of September, having our first practice September 29, 2002. We practiced over the in music building from about 11pm-2am and wrote "Masks." Since then we've gone through one guitarist, Justin from Northpoint, though he left about a month ago. We're still looking for another guitarist; so please contact us if you're interested. Currently, we practice in Alan's basement, and comprise of four people: Jacob Then on drums, Alan DuMond on guitar, Matthew Mumper on bass, and myself, Samuel Hartman, on vocals. We're looking to play more shows and just generally get our name around; so contact us for just about anything :). Our style is kind of hard to describe, but we're primarily....metal. Yeah, metal. I can't think of a more general way to describe it even though I'm not sure that's a good idea. I like metalcore and death metal, Jake likes progressive, power, and melodic death metal, Alan likes punk, hardcore and random metal, and Matthew likes lots of different types of metal as well as other random stuff. We all listen to a lot of different stuff, but it comes together for pretty brutal metal-type stuff. We like breakdowns, punk beats, blast beasts, and really heavy, chunky metal; which is what we try to compose. We're pretty much just a metal band; we're not satanic black metal , we're not christian metalcore, we're not druggies, and our lyrics aren't really political. It's just...metal; it's fun.
