ITS HARD TO MOVE, THERE ARE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE, LIGHTS ARE FLASHING, SMOKE MACHINES ARE ON OVERDRIVE, HUGE SPEAKERS GIVE OUT A SOUND THAT MAKES THE GATHERING OF BODIES MOVE IN WHAT LITTLE SPACE THEY HAVE...THIS IS A SCENE AEONIC KNEW HE WANTED TO BE INVOLVED IN.
HE SET ABOUT FORMING HIS OWN INTERNET RECORDING LABEL WHICH BECAME IFM - INDEPENDANT FUTURE MEDIA - A PLACE FOR INTERNET BASED MUSICIANS TO GATHER AND RELEASE THEIR MUSIC TO THE REST OF THE WORLD. AFTER SIGNING HIS FIRST THREE ARTISTS HE BEGAN DEVELOPING MATERIAL FOR HIS FIRST RELEASE.
"GYUKE (RELAX)", THE FIRST AEONIC TRACK TO BE COMPLETED, WAS UPLOADED TO MP3.COM IN 2002 HOWEVER THE ALBUM IT WAS INCLUDED ON WOULDN'T BE FINISHED UNTIL THE SPRING OF 2003. ENTITLED "SEMETE-UKETE", THE DEBUT ALBUM FUSED DREAMY CHILLOUT AMBIANCE WITH DANCE AND TECHNO FLOURISHES.
ONCE TOLD THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE "CHILLOUT MUSIC FOR PEOPLE ON DRUGS" THE ALBUM WENT ON TO BE SAMPLED FOR THE BREEZE 2003 FESTIVAL IN LEEDS WHICH AEONIC HIMSELF ATTENDED.
WITH THE ALBUM COMPLETED, AEONIC, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS JONATHAN LACKIN, MOVED ONTO A HARDER SOUND WHICH HE IS CURRENTLY DEVELOPING FOR HIS SECOND ALBUM.
