Artist History
Model M was formed in December 1994 and began touring the small venue circuit. Eventually they made a name for themselves and began to create a following, selling out many shows in the process. By 1997 it was easy for them to pack the house with crowds of 200 or more.
In 1999 Model M released their first full length CD (THE KILLING GODS) containing all their material from 1996-1999. They received many good reviews from the critics and the press alike. On Halloween 1999 they opened for Malhavoc and put on an amazing show, but unfortunately, that was to be their last live show.
The band needed a break from the performances and eachother, so they split up to pursue their own interests. Many of the members went on to form their own bands or to just do their own solo projects. |

Press Reviews
Pop Can Mag - Indie Spotlight (September 1999)
By Christine Tsao
Model M is one energetic band on the stage as anyone who attended their CD Release Party at The Big Bop can attest to.
The showmanship and flair of the band command the attention of everyone in the room. Though they did experience some slight problems with technical difficulties and rowdy audience members, the show was one for the history book according to the band.
OMA HMV - Indie Nation
Review of Model M, The Killing Gods
As you start to listen to THE KILLING GODS you will be in for a variation of electronic flavours. With the lead vocal styles changing from the likes of Korn to Prodigy.
As the ever growing Canadian industrial scene tends to stay in the shadows, Model M is impressive and strong. The instrumentation consists of many samples, live guitar tracks and some raw energy. There is definitely a lot to be said for a basement studio and some killer samples!
