Press Reviews
TIMID ROBOT: late night e.p.- An E.P. put out by a crappy band is a blessing. You only have to sit through half the customary dose of bad music, saving your time & sanity. Conversely, the same short set from a very good band can cause you to waste time (by listening to the same five songs over & over again)& rob you of your sanity by arousing an unquenchable desire for more, more, more. Timid Robot's "late night e.p." is that good. They don't fit into any particular genre, but I'm betting they own some Ass Ponys & Camper Van Beethoven discs. The songs are strummed, sardonic episodes of life, lamenting the fact that all the "Pretty Girls Have Kids," & sympathizing with an "Old White Girl with the Blues," & a confused, lonely girl & her protective facade ("Lucy's Big Show"). It's available at Salt City CD's or through www.timidrobot.com. Buy two. -The Event Newsweekly (Salt Lake City) 5 Oct. 20 |
