Opened in 1989, closed in 1995, the Iguana Cafe in North Hollywood sparked the NoHo Arts Revival, and preceded the LA coffehouse craze, by providing a forum for such disparate artists as Dan Bern, Duke McVinnie, Ellyn Maybe, the late Allen Jay Freedman, Clear, Michael Blake, Viggo Mortensen, Tracy & the Hindenburg Ground Crew, Matthew Niblock & Amelie Frank of the Sacred Beverage Press, Smokey Hormel, various & sundry members of X, you name it, we did it. |
