Artist History
Lauren Agnelli - ex of Washington Squares, Dave Rave Conspiracy. Dave Rave - ex of Teenage Head (Canada), Dave Rave Conspiracy. The two singing songwriting folk rock dynamos met in NYC in 1990 and promptly exploded. . . on the scene with the Dave Rave Conspiracy. In 1994, DRC released the '90's psychedelic art rock classic, "THREE OCTAVE FANTASTIC HEXAGRAM." They toured Russia and made a video which achieved rotation on Canada's MUCHMUSIC. Late in 1994, when the Conspiracy broke up, Dave and Lauren began their more acoustic duo, aGNELLI & rAVE, writing and singing on a more grassroots level, touring the highways and by-ways of Canada and the U.S. Touring with shaggy neo-beat Canadian poet Ralph through the years yielded the first of its kind, the Beatnik Folk Pop Explosion, a travelling musical/literary show that expanded minds and brought many a smile to the kindred musical and intellectual souls these heartful artists rouse with words and song. |

Press Reviews
“Heaven and Earth: an amazingly catchy collection of beautifully crafted
songs that were meant to be heard on the boardwalk, at the beach and in the
car. Make that anywhere and everywhere. The hooks are memorable, the
harmonies are sinful and the groove is infectious. . . One of the year’sbest.”
--Edward Silverman@Starledger.com
“Heaven and Earth is inspired by French jazz albums of the early ‘60’s and
the music evokes a more romantic time and place.”
--The Hamilton Spectator
“Good songwriting and smart lyrics are always welcome, so it’s no surprise
that the third offering from NYC-based folk/pop duo Agnelli and Rave -- she
ex of the Washington Squares, he ex of Teenage Head -- is dead pleasing,
framing the pair’s sharp observations with gently atmospheric guitars,
keyboards and strings. Elsewhere, the two come at pop/rock straight on.
Whatever, it’s all good.” -- Kim Hughes, NOW Magazine
". . . tympanis, trumpets, violins and even a glockenspiel embellish attractive,
understated arrangements; and the songs themselves remind you of a time when
alluring, memorable melodies were valued and cherished. Among the highlights:
'So Invisible' (think Goffin-King writing power pop); 'Every Dog Has His Day
In the Rain' (very Pet Sounds); 'Summertime/Wintertime' (an homage to folk-pop
vocal groups like the Mamas and the Papas and The Association) and 'To Have and
To Hold' (a lovely, yearning ballad that Trisha Yearwood would be crazy not to record).
Recommended to all those who think they don't write 'em like they used to.
