Artist History
Ishmal Cervantez is a highly trained percussionist who specializes in the bizarre rhythm structure of "kangaroo jazz". Influenced by heroes of his such as Wayne Newton and Tom Jones, Ishmal first took his band on the road and attempted to start off his career in the Las Vegas lounge scene. As a natural performer, Ishmal thought that he had it in the bag, but the tour was disasterous. After three horrible months making his way from club to club, Ishmal finally left the city broke and depressed. Briefly, the kangaroo-jazz maestro turned to a life of crime to make ends meet. In the last part of 1999, Ishmal met the world-renowned producer Wallace Kelly, and his on his way toward making a comeback in the American pop music charts! |
