Artist History indigo come from Landau in the southwest of Germany. The first jam-sessions had started up in spring 1998. Each member of the band had gained experiences in different projects through the years, so the first songs were written pretty fast. In winter 1998 the band entered the studio to record their first EP ""GET INTO THE WAVE", which contains the songs "RISE AND FALL", "DRAW THE LINE" and "WAVE". Within almost a year indigo played their first twenty shows in Germany. The feedback on the part of the audience and media has always been overwhelming.The band took part in an Internet band contest, which was held throughout the world by Billboardtalentnet in America. With a two-minute cut of their song "WAVE" indigo came second right within the second week they were on. Because of that, they appeared in the section "Artist in the buzz" with a photography of the band on the starting page of Billboardtalentnet. Nearly a year after the output of the first EP, the band went in the studio again to record the successor to "GET...", simply called "II". It contains the songs "EVERLASTING", "SEVEN SEAS", "COME TO MIND" and "GHOSTDANCE", which give a maturer impression of indigo. "II" will be used only for promotional work at the moment. But nevertheless the new songs can be heard under the menu "sound" on this website.Meanwhile indigo`s music is being played from several radiostations in Germany as well as in the US. KUSF in San Francisco and Stardogradio in Midwest City/Oklahoma are supporting the band overseas. In June indigo was chosen to be band of the month on Stardogradio. In Germany they are supported by Rocklandradio/Pirmasens and Radio Gong/Nuernberg.indigo on the bill of MTV`s Rock Am Ring 2000: May, 12th 2000. indigo won the MTV unsigned contest (5000 bands took part), what means, that they were on the bill of Germany`s most popular open air festival Rock am Ring in early June, which was headlined by Pearl Jam, Santana, Oasis, Sting, Bush, Live etc. this year. Live interviews at radiosations and TV shows followed immediately after they had won the contest. E.g. for MTV Select just to name one. After we had talked to MTV behind the center stage, we had the chance to see bands like Live, Counting Crows and Bush in flesh and blood just one step away. In early July this year indigo recorded two brandnew tracks at the "Art of Music" studio in Hamburg/Germany. "Bright Soul" and "Fish Was Getting Dry" were chosen to bring the band one more step closer to the deserved record deal.indigo rocked the open air festivals through Germany during this summer. "Queens Of The Stone Age", "Reamonn", "My Balloon", "Lemonbabies" and "Stone The Crow" shared the same stage with indigo. Even the first show outside the borders of Germany was played in Belgium. The Alive Festival there was headlined by Heather Nova, Him and Clawfinger.
