    Press Reviews
When you listen to the DQYDJP you’re on a trip with a high energy country rock band that can take you on a hard left turn down blues alley or a main line tour through the core of rock and roll. Live or on disc they’re a treat for people who want to hear a band that brings the fun they’re having right to their audience.–Steve Miller, music critic and science fiction authorThe Don’t Quit Your Day Job Players are so talented in so many disciplines that it makes my head swim. Having them play on my show was a high watermark for me. They are great musicians, great writers, witty conversationalists, and they make me shake my booty. I recommend them highly.–Dave Slusher, host of NPR’s Reality BreakThe road to rock and roll heaven is paved with the bleached skulls of bands like The Don’t Quit Your Day Job Players. Play on guys. Rock on for the ghosts of Jimi, Janis, Buddy, Elvis, and Stevie Ray.–Greg Kihn, horror writer and musician ("Our Love’s in Jeopardy,” "The Breakup Song”) How about a Dylan that Ricky Nelson once did, a little Creedence, all with twangy lead and tasty rhythm guitars, McCartneyesque bass, bongos and all kinds of swooshy scratchy stuff for percussion, and some fine original tunes thrown in? That’s pretty close to my idea of a perfect set of rock ’n roll, and what you’ll get from the DQYDJPlayers. Hey, quit your job if it’s the only way you can get to see these guys.–Paul Levinson, recording artist, Hugo, Nebula and Sturgeon award nominee and president of SFWAI’ve known the Don’t Quit Your Day Job Players longer than they have, and I’d like to say they’re the best band in North America. But I’m just not that big a liar. The best I can say for them is that they’re a traveling musical earthquake, a satisfying scratch for the itchy ear, and a guarantee of good times. Some of the happiest hours I’ve ever spent at a convention have involved tapping my toes to their tempestuous tunes...and it can’t happen again too soon to suit me. They’re the real deal.–Spider Robinson, folk singer and itinerant writer
