Artist description
If you could just swallow a tiny pill and feel warm and fuzzy inside, then you know what it is like to ingest Soupbaby. The Soupbaby groove combined with songs that stick like a seven-year-old chewed up piece of gum on the wall of your stomach, has been the reason for the band’s success. The have been making inroads on the Boston music scene as well as New England and for three years, have been banging out live shows at the Mama Kin Music Hall in Boston and other city stages. Tracks Bed and late Night Conversation, recorded on their extended play CD, No han Solo, are on rotation at local college and commercial radio stations.
The songs on No Han Solo run the emotional gamut, stuffed like a meat filling ravioli and deal with age old issues about people ‘sucking it up’ on this pebble called earth. Although the material reveals some of the embedded neuroses of the band, the music never prevents the listener from dancing.
Soupbaby is fronted by Emily Fontano, a 22 year old female vocal commodity and Gigs, a songwriter and lyrical creative. Richard Mazur discreetly slides in his eccentric moving bass lines and saxophonist Andy Bergman spins around on top with his melodic overlays. New edition Jason Sharron gives texture and validity to the grooves and drives the band’s energy. Soupbaby blends pop with groove rock rhythms in a nice little package.
Melding of genres and pouring molds of tight delectable songs, Soupbaby offers you new rock for your hungry ears. |
