    Artist History
Duane Frybarger spent much of his youth working as both a soloist and accompanist for church, school and private functions. At the age of 26, he began composing, primarily in a jazz/pop vein. Several years of writing led him back to the Classical era for studies and compositions. Over a period of five years, he wrote a wide variety of Symphonic Suites, Piano Etudes and various chamber pieces. His music will appear in the feature film, "Revenge Rider" due for release in early 2001. His music was also used in a PBS TV segment on Alternative AIDS treatments and in an instructional video, "Modern Day Meditation". His music was featured in Keyboard Magazine's Discoveries column and he has written technical articles for a small (non defunct) publication in Oregon, the Transoniq Hacker. His debut release "A Musical Feast", recorded under the name "Pangaea World Orchestra", gained airplay on more than 130 stations on five different continents in 1997. This first release was an eclectic blend of World, Jazz, Pop and New Age music. His current release, "A Road Less Traveled", is an album of Neo-Classical works for piano and chamber orchestra that has gained impressive airplay on numerous New Age/Easy Listening radio stations and programs, airing for more than 20 months on Al Santos' "Smooth Jazz Sunday Brunch" on WJZW 105.9 FM in Washington, DC and reaching the Number 1 position on "Mystic Music" on KKUP in San Jose, CA.

I found your music complex enough to be interesting yet simple enough to be relaxing. I think you are doing some great work. Keep up the good work." Chuck Mullen, Northville, MI ******* "Duane's music on this CD shows a maturity of style that only comes from years of playing and composing. It also reflects his commitment to and passion for music. Each piece holds up on its own yet they all also relate to each other to evoke an emotional experience. The music here is accessible to a wide range of listeners -the instrumentation is simple, yet the compositions are arresting. This work endures and holds one's attention through repeated listenings. In particular, 'Inside the Moment' stands out as an instant classic. The tune is hauntingly beautiful, and I find that it still moves me after hearing it many times. One only hopes that this CD finds the wide audience that it deserves." J. Alan Constant, San Francisco, CA******* "It casts a contemplative spell on the listener immediately. The shades of color and contrast are filled with emotion and one can tell that this is a work that is inspired and soul-felt. Congrats on a wonderful, magical project." david castle, songwriter*composer - Sherman Oaks, CA
