Artist description This site encompasses many of the different musical projects that Stan Arthur has been involved in over the years, including his own original songs, The Cinema Singers, Free Fare and Signal 20. Since 1999, Stan has been a member of the Tampa Bay power pop band, Barely Pink. For more information on that, go to www.barelypink.com. Stan Arthur is an independent singer/songwriter from St. Petersburg, Florida. Stan spent many years travelling the country with the rock & roll band Free Fare. After settling down to raise a family back in the early 90's, Stan began to write and record his own brand of pop/rock music. In late 1998, he discovered that he could freely distribute his songs over the Internet through the miracle of the MP3 format. Since then, Stan's songs have reached thousands of ears all over the world. After working with several Tampa Bay area bands, Stan joined the power pop quartet Barely Pink late in 1999 (www.barelypink.com) as a drummer and co-songwriter for an all new CD to be released in 2002. One of the songs to be featured on the new CD will be a new version of Stan's most popular tune on the Internet, "Timothy B". The Cinema Singers are a quartet of seasoned professional acapella singers from the Tampa Bay area. For nearly ten years, they have been reuniting during the Christmas season to entertain audiences of all ages. This year, they have a CD available here on MP3.com. Though their entire repertoire is made up of traditional Christmas songs, the Internet community has made them an MP3.com favorite by downloading their music all year-round. During the 1999 Christmas season, their songs were downloaded more than 60,000 times. Free Fare was a rock & roll band produced by the Young American Showcase company from 1968 until about 1991. They travelled the USA and Canada, playing their motivational programs in junior and senior high schools. The songs presented here were part of a recording project from 1990 for a tape that was sold by the band at their concerts. It has been preserved in its entirety and can be purchased in CD form here at MP3.com. Signal 20 was a popular Tampa Bay area cover band from 1994 to 1995. Just before their break-up, they recorded two original tunes, one of which is available for free download on this site.
