Press Reviews
http://www.site51.com/spotlight/"I came across Casual Alien at a coffee shop performance in Tempe, Arizona. And, much in line with the name, the casual nature of the performance along with the nuance of the music really caught my appreciation. Being a fan of electronic music, I was caught off guard by Dr. Boles's sound after listening to a night of the more dominant guitar-oriented bands about in Tempe. Filled with fluidic and ambient works, many of the pieces vary from dreamscapes to more dance punctuated sounds such as the featured track, EE-UU. Time and time again, the concept of music creating the visualization of motion and travel is often an emphasis in ambient electronic works. After listening to Casual Alien, I had the feeling that my frequent flier's miles had peaked......." ZD Net and Listen.com reports: "Similar Artists:Aphex Twin, The Orb, DJ Spooky, more ..." Listen.com Review "Casual Alien play music for after hours. Electro-ambient beats gently tick and atmospheric sounds entice you to enter mysterious, unknown worlds. Some jazzy synth-fusion is thrown in for kicks." :) Starting May: 2001 we are starting to get paid for playback (downloads), so please help support the band by downloading the MP3 files. We are making all the original music available to you for FREE downloads as it comes out (not the cover tunes, which MP3.com doesn't allow...but we use live.) I am hoping that with the gradual demise of Napster there will be increased interest in independent artists, which would help us. If this goes well I will also start including custom synth samples I am creating, and make those free for the remixers and trackers to use. Its an exciting medium --- if you help us!!! So have fun and download away!!! Our gift to you!!! How 'bout an E-mail and give me some feedback? At lest help correct any spelling errors! (HA!) |
