Artist description
Adrenalin Sound Machine (ASM) is part of a new generation of electronic music composers who started in the underground computer multimedia "demo" scene of the early 1990s. Using the tools of the modern "soundtracker" scene, Adrenalin Sound Machine creates 100% digitally produced electronic music in a bewildering range of styles. From trip-hop to trance, house to hardcore, gabber to game soundtracks, you name it, Adrenalin Sound Machine has done it. Adrenalin Sound Machine started out as a musical offshoot of a short-lived demo crew, and had already composed soundtracks for many demos and the soundtrack to the commerical game "Hi-Risc Racing" before launching a section on mp3.com in late December 1998. Since then, the prolific output of Adrenalin Sound Machine has generated many top 20 hits on various mp3.com genre charts, including a recent top 10 UK chart placing with "Digital Disk". Adrenalin Sound Machine has also broken new ground by using a soundtracker program as a live instrument on the album "Living In Cyberspace"- one of the first albums to use such a technique... Adrenalin Sound Machine intend to continue producing new music in a multiplicity of genres, and to continue to push the barriers of sound creation on soundtracker software. ASM also intend to take their unique sound to the live arena, via the internet and, of course, live venues... But most important of all, ASM want to build up a back catalogue of damn good electronic music! Find out more at the official Adrenalin Sound Machine website, at which one can find songs that are not available here... |

Artist History
Originally known (In very small circles indeed...) as "Electrix", Adrenalin Sound Machine started out as a side project of the short-lived Amiga demo crew "Adrenalin", making music that has been used in computer media soundtracks, such as the "Hi Risc Racing" soundtrack. When ASM "properly" started as a band, it originally started out with music made on an Atari running Quartet, then a couple of MIDI instruments were added... Now ASM has returned to making music with todays advanced sample and sound manipulation software, (ie soundtrackers again!) and we think the results are quite decent in our humble opinion... |

Press Reviews
Game reviewers singled out the "High Risc Racing" soundtrack for praise describing it as "moody"... Underworld 2 radio says: "Adrenalin Sound Machine has an amazing palette of sounds, and they use an astounding variety of them to paint a landscape that is at once alien and seductive." Tom Aragon says: "Good stuff. Very diverse!"... Raw42 says: "Adrenalin sound machine [...] takes you back a fair way to the early days of computer generated electronica. Danceable music in a retro style, [...] there's something good happening here. "... Listen.com says: "Hard, hypnotic dance music appropriate for when the night peaks. Showcases familiarity with a variety of hard-hitting digital beats"... "Adrenalin is right ... this will get your heart racing." Trance Fury has said that ASM has a "Great Trance/Ambient mood"... Kendall Jackman on "Theme from 'Hi-Risc Racing'": "Very Jarre-esque"... John Penny, radio DJ: "I'm an utter sucker for a bit of classy ambient and your album is as fine an example as I have heard. Real trippy stuff. I also love the way you mix in so many different styles an genre into multilayered soundscapes. The business guys. How come you're not in the top 40 albums? Cos there's no justice, that's why!!" Alter Maven says: "Highly popular electronic group from Scotland. I recommend you checking all of their works- you could be missing out on some good music." |
