Artist description
Stemming from Bristol, a suburb of Hartford,
Connecticut, 7july is a modern rock band that
delivers. Influenced by bands such as Alice in Chains
and Live, 7july prides itself on creating diverse
and dynamic music.
7july's debut release, Pedestal, is a tribute to 7july's quest to define itself;
or maybe, it's a commitment to the opposite.
Pedestal is filled with fervent lyrics and soul
splintering rhythms found in songs like "Ruined",
"Dream", and "Pedestal"; songs that can lift you
up and then smash your teeth to the pavement.
7july is actively promoting Pedestal, via radio,
the World Wide Web (www.7july.com), and with live
performances. |

Press Reviews
"The musicianship is first rate."
Doug Cornell - Someone Else's Problem
A review of the title track, "Pedestal".
"7july are four young fellas that wanna rock. Raised on
Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and other 90's alt-rock, 7july
have carefully sifted through their influences and created
their own music. The guitars alternate between a pleasant
simple intro melody to bone-crunching power chords. An
acoustic guitar fills in the holes.
"Pedestal" is about the songwriter's inability to live up to
expectations. The musicianship is first rate."

"The power of the music explodes"
Stephen Rygiel - CT Music On-Line
A review of 7july's debut CD, Pedestal
"Right from the beginning, this album holds your attention. The vocal
talents of "Find My Way" (Track 1) grab you right right away; then one
minute later, the power of the music explodes. Some of my other
favorites on this album are "Sarah" (Track 6); the drum intro of this
song together with the guitar riff and flowing bass set you to the
"straight-out" reality of this tune; "Backwards" (Track 7), [and] "Arty's Confession" (Track 9), but my over all favorite is, "Stupid Pretty", the last track of the album. This song stems on the idiotic side of society and I just love the bass intro; its something different. 7July has the sound of a heavy Matchbox 20. Definately a CD worthy of adding to your collection and a band worth checking out live." |
