Artist History
Since February of 2000, Sides of the North has been trying to make a name for their band by writing music that explodes with emotion, and playing live shows that entreat you to feel the music as they feel it. Through the past two years Sides has encountered a few face changes, but since February of 2003, this Dayton, OH based foursome has consisted of Matt Thornburg (lead vocals, guitar), Phil Demeter (guitar), Steve Wenger (bass), and Shawn Blevins (drums). This group comes together to write intense songs with floating melodies and passionate lyrics.
Since the release of their first full length, Finite Thoughts of the Infinite in December of 2001, Sides has been playing constantly, and been working to get their music out to the public more and more. May of 2003 has brought the latest from Sides of the North – a new album entitled, Slowly and Sometimes Never. With this album representing the new line-up, it will be the best representation of what they're made of to date – musically, emotionally, and spiritually. Throughout Sides’ existence they have been able to play with many amazing bands, such as Norma Jean, Dead Poetic, Justified, Stavesacre, Embodyment, Cool Hand Luke, Noise Ratchet, and Staple to name a few.
Sides of the North is in full effect, trying to make it as a band that plays music to glorify God. He has given them the talents and they are giving them back to Him. So, from here they press on to get their music and hearts out to the masses. |
