Artist description SEAN MICHAELS Rush Music-Rochester NY Now in his eighth year behind turntables Sean Michaels has become a strong source for house music in western New York. Busy since the beginning of 2002, Sean continues to travel, pushing new sounds in house music and focusing much of his time on music production. Sean got his start in 1994 after being turned on to the techno and acid house sound. Buying a mix of these sounds and practicing at home, Sean played his first gig nearly a year and a half later in Rochester NY. Keeping his sound rooted in acid house Sean began to branch out and experiment with different styles of house. Disco, jazz, funk and tribal sounds would all become major influences in his music, as would djs such as Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Terry Mullan, and Josh Wink. As time went on Sean would begin to perform more and more in his hometown and would soon begin traveling to perform his unique style of house music. At the beginning of 1999 and on through to today Sean has become a highly sought after talent from upstate New York. He has become known for consistent quality music and continues to push new sounds in his dj sets, creating a seamless mix that grows from deep funky grooves to driving tech-house. He has taken his sound all over the United States and has performed for capacity crowds in cities such as Cleveland, Las Angeles, Tampa, Hartford, Toronto and the list goes on.
